Pre-school admits children aged approximately 3 to 6 throughout the school year.
Neither English nor German language knowledge is required for acceptance into COLE Pre-school.
We are happy to offer our children large, light and child-friendly rooms and a garden in which to play and learn.
The learning room has an abundance of materials to help our ‘yellow-winged’ pre-school owls learn core subjects, such as literacy, maths, science, geography, art and crafts. The play room is well-equipped to suit every age group.
The house is familiar and has a garden with trees, shrubs, wild and grown flowers, a children’s vegetable growing patch, a swing, slide, see-saws, play house and shed for toys and bikes. There is a large park area for ball games in summer and sledging in winter.
In pre-school we endeavour to keep each class to a maximum of 16 students and with two to three qualified teaching staff in order to ensure qualitative learning. Our qualified teachers use an eclectic methodology and a combination of self-developed materials and curriculum, as well as following the British and Austrian curricula.
‘Our teaching strength lies in our flexibility to adapt to each child’s needs’.
We are pleased to say that we are also a teacher training facility for EU Erasmus students. We enjoy the diversity and co-operation that trainee teachers from universities in Europe bring to the pre-school.
As is customary in British pre-schools, our children will also wear a designated school uniform. A simple uniform (white shirt or polo-shirt, navy blue jeans/trousers/skirt, navy blue jumper/fleece) is obligatory and pre-school crests for clothing can be purchased in the office at a cost price of 2 Euros/piece. Emblems must be attached on the left breast pocket of shirts, jumpers and jackets. As this clothing is readily available in most clothing shops parents are free to buy from whichever store they prefer.
For children to be admitted to Pre-school they must be toilet-trained and not wear any nappies.
